And Now For Something Completely Different

I think we are experiencing our entry into the Velvet Revolution. The east block had their system melt down. And now its our turn.

How did we get here? As a planet, we just had octuplets. Yes it was irresponsible. But now that they are here, which ones should we kill? That is the one question that cannot be fairly answered. Yet it is happening before our very eyes, subject to long distance projections at the speed of light. So who lives and who dies til we get back to a manageable population, that is the question. If we can get back at all.

Living in an ocuplet world, salvation seems hopeless unless we think collectively in a way we have never allowed ourselves to think. What we do know is what went before us has failed or is in the process of failing. (If you doubt that, what would happen right now in the world if something globally tragic happened.) And since that wouldn't be fair, we need to do something else today.

We are our starting point. We are all in this together and alone. There can't be agendas -- only what is effective in making life meaningful. The pre-dogmatic basics.

But if we are going to get back at all, we are going to make sure no one has more power or influence than $500,000. In other words, we are going to have to rely on those non-market tools called love and empathy. For it to be fair, everyone has to count. Then we can nurse our way back from the brink of eco-armaggedon.

This is the challenge of a Velvet Revolution. Future generations are counting on us to get it right. Even your children are counting on you now. Its that close. What would Jesus do?
